If you ever need Search And rescue, we are there for you but first there are some procedures that need to be followed before we can be activated if someone is missing or overdue and you are worried, the first thing you need to do is call the RCMP. We cannot be activated until the RCMP calls Victoria and they, in turn call us and activate us. RCMP have procedure as well, they will decide if a search team is required or not, depending on circumstances. Sometimes they will give us a heads up and we can start getting our team ready to go, as it will save time. Before calling Search And Rescue, always call the RCMP, and we will be happy to assist.
